Spring Saturday in D.C. In the early 1900s, the government of Japan gifted the United States with Cherry Blossom trees, which were planted around the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C. The trees bloom around the same time every spring, drawing millions of visitors. An airplane flies over the Jefferson Memorial, dedicated for former U.S. President Thomas Jefferson. The cherry trees blooming draw huge crowds to the memorial and the Tidal Basin pathways each year. Tourists and locals crowd the pathways of the Tidal Basin to take pictures of the cherry trees and surrounding monuments. People fly kites at the Jefferson memorial, taking advantage of an unseasonably warm, sunny, and breezy Saturday. Tourists often seek out quieter spots among the cherry trees for picnics with family and friends. Ally Ruocco, a freshman psychology major, does her math homework while getting ready for a night out. She is rushing to complete it so she can have fun with friends. #jour370601 Ally Ruocco is stressed as she rushes putting on her makeup. She is rapidly trying to apply the foundation to her face while still doing her work.  Anne Arundel hall is lit up right after the sun has set. You can see the reflection of the light in the window after a long day.  Unsure of what to wear Ally looks at a dress in the mirror.

March 20, 2019- 22 year old Morgan Gingerich stands on a dock in Downtown Annapolis. Gingerich grew up performing with the Talent Machine Company at the Francis Scott Key Auditorium located just a short walk from Dock Street. On days where the company had multiple shows, the performers would walk to the docks during their breaks to eat and rest. March 20, 2019- Gingerich performs a tilt jump in Downtown Annapolis. The docks are suitable for dancers to jump on because dancers are used to practicing on sprung wood floors.  March 20, 2019- Morgan Gingerich poses in an arabesque. Gingerich is a junior undergraduate dance  major at Towson University. March 20, 2019- Gingerich holds an elevated straddle position .
