10 Best Photos - Colleen Neely
I really like how the natural light worked in this photo, as there was a large window just to the left of where I was. I also like how the fork points over to the man in the photo, it does a good job of leading the eye around the photo.
Although this photo was not taken for the portrait assignment, I do like it as a portrait. The light in the area was very interesting, as you can see it is a mix of colors. I also like how well a candid moment turned out; the girl was laughing about something when the photo was taken.
What I like the most about this photo is the slight blur. I think it really portrays how much this performer was moving and it says something about the energy of the show.
In this photo, I like how the two performers are facing away from one another and yet their expressions are so similar. I think this photo really captured the joy that performers feel onstage.
While this structure (the Jefferson memorial) is not one of the most recognizable buildings in DC, I like how you can look at the photo and tell that it was taken in DC because of the style of architecture. I also like how the jellyfish kite seems to be swimming among the columns.
I really just like the repetition in this picture. This was taken when the cherry blossoms were in peak bloom and I love how so many families are all doing the same thing.
I love the use of the mirror in this picture and how you can only see the face of the subject in the reflection. I also like how it was taken just before the eyeliner pen was used, it looks almost as if the girl is hesitating before applying it.
This is one of my favorite photos from this semester. Holi was such a fun event to take photos of because it was outside (again, I love shooting with natural light) and the abundance of color.
More so than the last photo, I feel like this picture conveys more of the energy of the event. Holi is a very joyful celebration and I feel like the motion of the blue powder helps convey that as much as the crowd does.
In this photo, I like how the light is focused on the desk and the laptop and the photo gets darker the farther the eye moves from the subject. This is appropriate seeing as the girl and the objects on the desk are the focus of the image. I also like how cluttered the photo is, I feel like it conveys the chaos of a college student's life.
