Week 8- Cami Gore

On Tuesday, April 2, 2019 Sara Pearson's Dance 109-Improvisation class visited the light lab in The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.
Senior theatre major Molly Boyle performs the first prompt given. Students were instructed to move towards and then away from the white tarp in the background.
Freshman theatre major Viola Costen performs the same prompt. However,  she said the change in lighting created a different mood. Consequently, she softly arched back into the tarp.

Freshman dance major Gabrielle Woska enters the space immediately following Costen. As the lighting remained the same, Woska kept the motif of controlled and sustained movement.

As soon as the pink and purple hues from the side lights appeared, Woska drastically threw the prop over herself. She said she knew she wanted to effectively capture the change in the lighting. She was pleased with how the tarp reflected the lighting.
After Woska had the idea to throw the tarp over herself, Professor Pearson prompted the next student, sophomore dance major Eileen Cover to do the same.
The next performer, senior economics major Sara Guerrieri takes the prompt to another level by not only covering herself with the tarp, but rolling in it.
The next prompt was to move the tarp into a shape. Freshman dance major Madelinn Small gracefully moves the tarp into a circular form.
Pauline Sow, a student in the Robert H. Smith School of Business, takes  Pearson's improvisation class for fun. She chose to stretch the tarp into a triangular shape.
