I like this photo because even though Madeleine and Liz are in the corner on one side of the photo, Madeleine's arm fills up the rest of the frame. I also loved how bright the photo was because they set up a desk lamp to get better selfie lighting in their picture.


I love this plant wall in the Footnotes Café at McKeldin Library, and I liked being able to capture some of Jenna's laptop stickers while she studied.


I like this photo because it shows the name of the dorm I've lived in all of freshman year. I also love the columns on this building, and having Alexandra on the stairs shows the size in a better perspective.


I like this photo because it shows a lot of emotion that wasn't staged in any way, I was just taking photos to practice as we hung out. I just wish that the shutter speed had been a bit quicker to minimize the blur on the left side.


The reflective lenses in Christina's glasses is my favorite part of this photo, because she's standing in front of McKeldin library and you can see the big mall in the reflection. The wind is also nice so that her hair frames her face.


The cherry blossoms were so beautiful, and being right on the water in the early evening meant everything was light. This portrait of Jenna came out very well and I think her dark dress in the center makes her stand out, but the top of the photo that's full of cherry blossoms is nice to look at on its own too.


I thought this photo was great because the clothesline takes up the entire image, and the closest shirt to the front has a really strong message. Even though you can't really read the others that well, having the strong lettering up close is important and indicates what the tone of the rest of the shirts is.


I love this photo because the model has such a dynamic pose and I was able to catch the light right through her hand that's on her hip. This model had the best energy of all of the models in the show, and I think her pose indicates that.


This was my favorite outfit at the Condom Fashion show, so I like this photo because you can see it very clearly and the model had great facial expressions walking down the runway which I managed to capture here also.


I love the symmetry of this photo, and I think the chapter house looks so nice in this light.

On Sunday afternoon sorority Alpha Omicron Pi and Fraternity Zeta Psi threw an event called "Play Outside With AOII and Zeta Psi" to raise money for their respective philanthropies. They raised a total of $5,000.  Students play a game of catch in front of the chapel during the event.  Olivia Campbell, Elizabeth Roche, Ella Mitchell, and Caroline Fleetwood hold up their new shirts they received at the event Edible cookie dough was sold to help raise money for the philanthropies, and was offered in 8 different flavors. Students get BBQ, a food that was included in the $5 ticket to attend.  Members of Alpha Omicron Pi play corn hole, another activity that was set up at Sunday. Students play an intense game of tug-of-war, which was made tricky that day because of the wind Members of AOII begin to clean up the event at 4p.m., when the event ended

Week 11 - Colleen Neely

In the Catholic Church, Easter is the most important day of the year. The day celebrates the rise of Jesus Christ to life after enduring crucifixion on Good Friday to pay for the sins of humanity. Many parishes undergo days of preparation for this event. At the Catholic Community of St. Francis Xavier (CCSFX) in Hunt Valley, MD, volunteers spend days preparing the church for the Easter Sunday Masses. The baptismal font at the front of the church is adorned with flowers to remind Catholics of the washing away of sins that also occurs at baptism. In the Catholic Church, parents choose baptism for their children and it is a sacrament typically performed during infancy. As is proclaimed by the banner, Jesus Christ rises on Easter Sunday. This event is considered proof that God will triumph over Satan, that good will always overcome evil.
