Zambrano-Lee, an environmental science and policy major with a Spanish minor, lives in an on-campus apartment with three other students. She likes to eat her cereal in her room as she gets dressed, does her hair and prepares for the day.
Zambrano-Lee applies medicinal cream to her arms to help clear up her eczema. She tries to make time for this every morning.

Zambrano-Lee adjusts the cord of one of her favorite necklaces — a silver charm shaped like a tree. It was a gift from her two best friends for her 20th birthday.

Recently, Zambrano-Lee was diagnosed with ADHD — something she didn't realize she'd had her entire life. Here, she uses her pocketknife to cut a pill in half, ensuring she has the right amount of focus to start her day.
Backpack on, cereal finished, Zambrano-Lee grabs her empty bowl to be dropped off in the kitchen and heads out the door to class.
